Drum Blog

Original drum exercises, excerpts from my methods, educational thoughts, and memories from my musical journey.
A blog to learn, reflect… and explore.

Another New Drum Book!

More than ten years ago, I started writing a series of drum exercises for my personal use.
I soon realized that these exercises could also be useful to other drummers if I published them as a book.

Since then, I have kept writing and practicing them, as they represent musical concepts that fascinate me and constantly improve my playing. Even after more than ten years of work, I keep discovering their full potential.

Previous Methods

Along the way, I decided to republish my first method Time Manipulation and to complete Time Initiation, which was released in September 2023.

The New Project

I am now about to complete the writing and layout of the first volume of this third method, which will eventually consist of two volumes.

As drummers, we are often tempted to work on phrases and ideas picked up from different musicians, but it is not always easy to connect these elements.

The exercises I propose are based on a fundamental rhythmic principle, with a limited number of patterns. From these foundations, I develop hundreds of variations that will teach you how to move through measures using the basic polyrhythms 3:2 and 4:3.

All patterns are interconnected, and working on them will allow you to feel and internalize this unity. This material can be approached at an elementary level, but it will also challenge even the most advanced drummers.

I can guarantee it will keep you busy for years, no matter your starting point.

Coming Soon…

I am thrilled to announce that the release of this new method is imminent.
Stay tuned for more details!

Update (2025)

Since writing this post, I have added new exercises and rewritten part of the beginning of the book, which slowed down the progress of the project.
However, this gave me the chance to refine the method and make it more complete.

After a few months of pause, it is now time to get back to work and push through to finish this first volume.
I will share more updates on the progress and the release date soon!
