Rhythmic Manipulation – Volume 1 develops a complete rhythmic system based on sixteen Master Patterns.

Originally conceived as accent exercises to be explored both on a practice pad and around the drumset, these patterns are expanded through different meters, stickings, orchestrations, rhythmic transformations, and polyrhythmic relationships. First presented in 12/8, the same material is then explored in 3/2, 6/8, 3/4, and 4/4, gradually revealing new connections between rhythmic ideas that may initially seem unrelated.

The book includes two basic stickings, drumset orchestrations, foot patterns, a subtractive approach, melodic rudiments, three-beat structures in 4/4, and extensive work on two-measure combinations through Sequential Pattern Morphing.

They are expanded through different meters, stickings, orchestrations, rhythmic transformations, and polyrhythmic relationships, then explored in 3/2, 6/8, 3/4, and 4/4.
